Our 64’ exploration sailing yacht was conceived after looking for a capable world cruising vessel and realising that most of the yards building in this style are in Europe. Why not build on the BC coast? We have facilities which produce and cut aluminium, we have skilled welders and shipyards capable of building to international certifications. Fine carpenters and marine tech companies can be found on the coast. We also are incredibly fortunate to have a Yacht Designer with the skill, knowledge and reputation of Ron Holland.
The collaboration with Ron Holland has been a dream come true. Every moment spent around the design table discussing design details has been an absolute joy.

Alberni Yachts builds vessels with engineering common to multiple variants. This method offers the ability to customize sections of the vessel to suit the individual, couple, family, or business purchasing the vessel. It also makes this level of customisation much more economical than a fully custom yacht. Alberni Yachts are engineered from the outset to be capable, resilient, and self-sufficient while being a responsible environmental choice. The vessels are designed to be zero emissions by eliminating hydrocarbon use from propulsion, cooking, heating, and other systems. Connectivity is also important for the user who wishes to spend extended periods working and living aboard.

Alberni Yachts are being built on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, at a growing shipyard with room for further expansion. Slots in the production schedule are available much sooner than in European yards. The Canadian Currency and design choices combine to make an Alberni Yacht a sound financial choice. Commissioned by an experienced Canadian yachtsman and built to International DNV Classification Rules, the design of this ocean voyaging capable sailing yacht incorporates the combined design experience of Ron Holland, Laura Fuge and Chris Baker.
Incorporating over 50 years of award winning design experience that has created a wide variety of internationally lauded sailing yachts, Alberni Yachts is presenting something new to the long distance sailing yacht market: an easy-to-sail yacht that is capable of fast long distance voyaging in comfort and safety. A “go anywhere” sailing yacht.
The prototype, the first of this new series to be built, presents one of a variety of interior design arrangements. The intention is to offer both private and charter interior cabin options, customized to a range of client personal requirements. This design has been created to allow interior customization by way of a cost effective build program. Think of a bespoke/custom yacht available at series production pricing.
